The Choshi Harbor has had the top volume of fish caught for the last 5 years, and is also one of the top sites for sardines nationwide. Our recommendation is the “Sardine Rice Bowl.” Experience sardines with the kind of freshness you can only find in a harbor town. Also, the “Nure Sembei” (wet rice crackers) have a strong connection to the Choshi Dentetsu, and Yamasa’s Japanese style roll cake made with brown sugar syrup and soy sauce kneaded into the dough, “Shoyu Roll Cake” offers a totally new texture unlike anything you’ve tried before. (Collaboration with Royal. Also on sale at Umihotaru.) There’s lots of other great food to enjoy in Choshi as well.
