The soil in Yamanashi Prefecture has good drainage, and due to the blessings of abundant sunlight and temperature fluctuations between morning and evening, fruit cultivation is a prosperous industry. A diverse variety of fruit like all kinds of grapes, cherries, peaches, Japanese plums, blueberries, kiwi fruits, and strawberries, among others, are grown throughout the year, and fruit picking activities can be enjoyed throughout the prefecture.
