Akeno Himawari Batake

Yamanashi > Hokuto

Located in the northwest of Yamanashi Prefecture, Akeno-cho in Hokuto City receives over 2,500 hours of sunlight per year, and is well-known as “the sunniest place in Japan.” With Mt. Fuji, Mt. Yatsugatake, and the South Alps mountain range in the background, the blessings of the sunlight produce a field that’s a solid sheet of 290,000 blooming sunflowers every year from late July to late August.
