Hachioji Festival

Hachioji is approximately 40 kilometers west of central Tokyo, just 40 minutes by train from Shinjuku. The city is famous for Mt. Takao, which rates three stars in the Michelin guide book, and a whole host of natural, historical, and cultural attractions—right here in the Tokyo Metropolis! The Hachioji Festival should also not be missed; it is one of the Kanto region’s biggest float festivals, attracting more than 700,000 people over three days. What’s more, in 2016, Hachioji was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records for the most people to participate in a Bon dance event and the greatest number of people wearing yukata.
