Leave Tokyo for a drifting adventure that will satisfy your need for speed, no license necessary!

Sitting safely in the passenger seat, your professional Drift Taxi driver will take you on a full-throttle, heart-racing drifting adventure along Fukushima’s Ebisu Circuit. Drift Taxi is run by drifting pioneer and Ebisu Circuit manager Nobushige Kumakubo and Naoto Suenaga, both racers for Team Orange and D1 Grand Prix competitors. Their astounding track record assures you’re in safe hands.

Starting off with a few donuts, your driver will take you on winding roads full of drift potential. Each course has a different feel and they change daily. However, according to the drivers, the Toge course is the most thrilling and perilous—a nail-biting pass on a tight, narrow track cut into the mountainside. You can book a Drift Taxi for yourself and up to two friends. There are two modified taxis: an orange Toyota Mark II and a white Toyota Chaser, both of which have been fitted with bucket seats. A session costs ¥30,000 with an additional ¥500 insurance fee per person. Considering you’ll be driven by drifting legends on one of the best tracks in the world, it’s a small price to pay for a unique experience.

You’ll need to reserve your Drift Taxi in advance. While this can be completed on their website, there is currently no English version available, so you may need to use a translator. It’s fairly straightforward, just be sure to enter your desired date and time and provide an email address. You can get to Ebisu Circuit from Tokyo via the Tohoku Shinkansen. After an 80-minute train ride, transfer at Koriyama Station to the JR Tohoku Line bound for Nihonmatsu, which is 20 minutes via taxi from the circuit. You can also hop on a bus bound for Shiozawa Onsen until Safari Park Mae, which will take around half an hour. The whole journey should take no more than three hours.
