Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a spectacular scenic passage over the Japanese Alps connecting Nagano and Toyama Prefectures. Using ropeways, trams, and special hybrid buses, passengers can enjoy the expansive mountain scenery. Scenes such as Tateyama, one of Japan’s three spiritual mountains; the Kurobe Dam, the highest-altitude and largest dam in Japan; and the towering snow walls of Murodo, reaching 10 to 20 meters in height during spring time can be enjoyed.
